Reflection Friday: What’s in a day…

Reflection Friday: What’s in a day…
I have said the most this week when talking in person: “My life has turned into 95% business admin/paperwork/client relations and 5% taking photos”. In this, there is no room for sleep, relaxation, self-care, family or any of the other essential things that help keep me on track and focused. Since last week’s burnout, I have been trying not to take on more than I can chew. Start asking for help or taking up offers of support more often.

Regardless of the service or product being provided, running a business can take up your entire life. There is no downtime; you’re constantly checking emails or finding new ways to engage and retain [potential] clients. Therefore, you end up neglecting yourself and the other essential things in your life. I have always struggled with this, whether it be school or holding many jobs and chasing after all the opportunities (at least for me).

I wanted to bring this up today because this week, there have been a few key points I wanted to share.
#1. People understand that life happens. If you start by being authentic and honest about your capabilities, your dream clients will be more willing to work with you.
#2. Never neglect morals or values. They are what will see you through.
#3. Allow time for yourself.
#4. Acknowledge that you know what you know and what you don’t know. Humility.
#5. Find an accountability buddy. I am fortunate enough to have a few in different aspects of my life. All found within the last few months. And my land, it is so refreshing to have honest conversations about our goals and whether we fell flat on our faces or managed to make them happen—a person who is dedicated to keeping it real. This helped me with motivation and followed through but they reminded me that I don’t have to be everything for everyone.

Now, please don’t get me wrong. These are not items I am suggesting will work for you. Rather they are some of the lessons I am learning that work for me.

I know you’ll find yours. Thanks for reading through this!
I believe in you! 💜
