Another great reason for colour composition in photography is that you get to have more control over where the eye naturally leads. As seen in the image above, the picture can be confusing when there’s a bright out-of-focus object behind the more naturally coloured subject. But by changing up the colouring and removing distractions you can really narrow in on what’s in focus.
Whenever you’re learning a new technique it’s best to get into a habit of taking the same picture multiple ways. Adding items one at a time and seeing what increases and decreases one’s ability to focus on the subject.
